I have been involved in art and painting since the 50′s. I am a perpetual student and my studies have included art, psychology, and lots of science, all of which contributed to my sustained interest in abstraction and creativity. I am an experimental artist and liken my painting process and imagery to an endless journey of discovery. I frequently engage in social commentary in areas of national and global concern. My work has been collected internationally and nationally. I have been active in competitions over the whole period of my art career, being juried into many shows and received awards. I am currently engaged in teaching abstract art at beginning and intermediate levels, and coaching awareness/creativity expansion in artists and others who wish to expand their current boundaries.
My goal as an artist is to create paintings which are evocative, expressive and colorful. I use abstraction of common elements, both physical and emotional in my art I try to create a visual expression which invites a viewer to participate in the creative process using their own imagination and reflections. Art in this context emulates life, changeable, always evolving with the viewer’s personal experiences, creating a virtual sea of possible interpretations.
