I am a mixed media artist working primarily in acrylic, collage & assemblage in both realistic and abstract forms. Not content to stick with one media or style, I prefer to mix or layer watercolor, fluid acrylic, graphite and/or pastel. Gold gesso is a favorite! I like to layer paints & mediums, sometimes scraping them back to reveal rich colors & interesting textures. I am always eager to experiment and try something new from the art store, the hardware store, my garage or my back yard. This experimentation takes me on a journey of discovery where the process is the vehicle that leads to the finished piece.

Paintings

My paintings focus on color, shape & texture. I love using vibrant colors to see how they affect each other and you the viewer. I have been inspired by the colors & texture I see in simple, everyday objects…clothespins, lemons, a red pear or my daughter’s bright blue flip flops.

Collage & Assemblage

My collage & assemblage pieces allow me to break away from flat painted images. Corrugated cardboard, foil, sand, flattened bottle caps, wire, and candy wrappers, have all found their way into my art. Rusted metal, old weathered wood and graphic memorabilia from the past intrigue me. I find great satisfaction in repurposing these items into my art.
Enjoy my eclectic style! I hope that the colors, textures and everyday objects you’ll find in my art will put a smile on your face.
